Southern Tier Family Life Church knows that your child is “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God and we want to help you dedicate his or her life to Him. Take this important step where one of our designated leaders will pray over your child’s life service to God our Father.
“For you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance being yet unformed, and in Your book they all were written. The days fashioned for me, when yet there were none of them.” Psalm 139:13-16
In the Word of God parents, after receiving the birth of a new child, would very early on take that infant into the house of the Lord to be dedicated before Him. In the scriptures, these dedications occurred with the first year of life and had to do with acknowledgement that this recent birth was a gift from God. Southern Tier Family Life Church acknowledges that family members of our church have received a special gift from God. Baby dedications allow parents and church family members to join their faith with an assigned leader to believe for Gods success in these new infants. On designated days throughout the year, all children under 2 years of age will be received in prayer and dedicated to the Lord by one of our leaders.
A child blessing is something we perform in service for children over 2 years of age but under 6. If the child has not yet been dedicated before the Lord, then it is an appropriate time for a parent to bring the child and to present that child before the church. We will lay our hands on the child, anoint them, and bless them before God.
For children over the age of 6, leaders of the church will happily speak a word of blessing over their lives after the service.
